Josephine Anne: Our Birth Story
When sharing my birth story, I have to start with St. Jane Frances De Chantal. I first learned of St. Jane Frances on her feast day, August 12th, in 2020 when the ministry Be A Heart led a prayer meditation that St. Jane practiced. They explained how every morning, St. Jane envisioned herself going out into the ocean and floating on her back. She would imagine each worry, fear, and anxiety she had as a buoy and would let each one go into the water one by one. She would see God taking each one as she let it go. Although the buoy would inevitably return the next day, she would once again envision letting it go until the day that the buoy’s were no longer returning. As someone who struggles with anxiety, this imagery was so powerful and transformative for me, especially when I found out I was pregnant with my first child about three months later.
